Greetings Members,
I would kindly request your opinion please. I have been paying £200 to my ex after 1 child on a monthly basis for a few years however, now I need to pay £400 due to my new job. Honestly, I cannot afford to pay that much because of personal circumstances. Other than that my ex is a billionaire. Please do not get me wrong, I am not looking for a way to avoid taking responsibility, I am just unable to pay double amount. Do I have any option to appeal? Making an arrangement with my ex is not an option I am afraid.
Thank you for reading and responding.

Actually, this one is more informative. Bear the timescales in mind.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
But if you now pay £400, for 1 child, your gross income will have doubled also, even if you take into account deductions you are still better off?1
-
Actually my income has not been doubled. We agreed upon £200 a few years ago. They have recently moved to the UK and involved CSM, therefore I received the letter to pay twice as mush as before according to my last payslip. Since I need to look after other people from my salary it is just difficult to me to start paying double amount due to my fix monthly expenses. In addition to that it looks like the fact that we have a much better need of that extra £200 is irrelevant to CSM no matter what I do.0

Are those others children? As they should be taken into account. Even if they are step children.0
-
Yes, they are my children. I have just checked with the official calculator, 1 child reduces my monthly CMS contribution by nearly £12 which is almost nothing... and not even fair from my perspective. I believe this should be better balanced between the families.0

If you have put your details into the calculator and it is correct then there isn't much you can do about it i am afraid. The resident parents financial situation doesn't come into it.
Does the payslip they used show a true reflection of your income or did it include a bonus/ loads of overtime that you don't normally do etc?LBM Debt Total : £48,326.50

No bonus or overtime. I might change my pension contribution to affect my income before tax. What is the maximum percentage considered as acceptable by CMS?0
-
I don't think there is a maximum.
Have you checked the calculator? Do you see your child? If so have you made sure the overnight discount is in the calculation?LBM Debt Total : £48,326.50

No a child would not change the calculation by 0.3% - so how about some real figures?0
