Amazon UK returns issue

Weeks back my mother in law ordered a hedge cutter from Amazon, it wasn't a cheap item so when they sent a larger, heavier and cheaper item, she wanted it to go back. The returns process turned out to be a headache, a pre paid return label would not print regardless of what we tried to do, and in the end i posted it via Parcelforce, with a note explaining what had happend, with relevant return paperwork etc inside the box. They received the box and signed for it on the 8 July. Now, because of the situation with Covid in that most phone lines can't be manned, we can't get hold of the company who sell through Amazon, and all amazon keep saying is "don't try to reply to computer generated emails", (which is the only type we get). What are we supposed to do? This cost 90 quid, they have had it back and not processed the refund. I guess the next stage is trading standards, and loads more wasted time.

    You should not need to contact Trading Standards, have you been through the Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee procedure?

    Last return i did no printer needed .
    Bar code to phone Hermes local shop scanned code on phone .
    Refunded  delivered .

    If the website is showing the returns label, then the issue is at your end. You press print from browser and it passes the screen info to your printer.
    You sure it is selecting the correct printer. Not uncommon for more than 1 printer to show & wrong one is default or it prints to a system file instead of your actual printer.
