Redundant staff being replaced by Sub-Contractors

I've recently been made redundant and I'm still on my notice period. My employer said just before Lockdown that they possibly needed to make 8 of us Electricians redundant. During being Furloughed we were informed there would be a 3 stage points process to determine who would be at risk. Since being at risk, I've been placed on notice leave because the company said that there was not enough work to keep us. Since being on notice I've been informed that the company has given work to sub-contractors to carry out work I could have undertaken and more to follow. Is the company breaking the law in not taking me off Redundancy and placing me.in thr role instead.

Are the sub contractors full time or just doing a few days here and there?0

It might be that the subcontractors are on a short term contract or that there is only short term work for the company or significant uncertainty over future contracts?May you find your sister soon Helli.
