Is my House Considered a House or Bungalow?

Hi all

I have a house (or bungalow) that I am about to renew the home insurance for. I wondered what type of property it is (as I have heard it described as both) and also if the distinction is important for insurance purposes? I don't want to void my home insurance!

It's a 2 storey dorma-style property with a bedroom and bathroom upstairs and one bedroom (and an additional room we use as an office) downstairs.
There is a boarded loft above the upper floor but its ceiling is too low to stand up in.
It was referred to as a house on the estate agent's listing when we bought it and I insured it as a "house" last year.

Many thanks for any advice!

Usually called a chalet bungalow. Was there an option, or drop down option under the bungalow heading, for that?

Was the loft converted into first floor accommodation or was it purpose built as a chalet bungalow?

There was no option for that.

Unfortunately I am not too sure if it was purpose built as a chalet.

If it has two storeys and a loft then it's a house in my book; a bungalow is either one storey or one storey with the loft converted into a room.

This style of house is common so ring the insurance company  up and ask them.

Where do people get this "dorma" stuff from? I blame Pavarotti.
I blame the local curry house. They don't sell Chicken Kormer, do they? Oh, no.

Yes, and who cares if he had a Nissan?
So did I; three of them in fact, but I never sang about any of them.

But did any of your Nissans have a 'dorma'?

    See.  Worth singing about.
