MOT, DVLA not crediting the remaining 7 days
Options
Had my car MOT done yesterday, was due on the 27th. However, rather than running to the 27th 2021, it expires on the 21st. The tester said this has only recently started to happen on the DVLA portal and they have no control over it.

Is it first MOT for a new car?0

It's because of the six-month extension which would have been applied on about the 20th.
You need not have had the MOT done until January.1 -
MOT tester obviously doesn't understand how it works then. If your MOT is carried out more than one month before expiry then you will only get 12 months from the test date. Your MOT was not due, being extended by 6 months around one week before the old due date, until 27th January 21 so you got 12 months from the test. There have been several posts about this.

Thanks for the comments, makes sense although being penalised for actually getting the car safety checked in time. (2nd MOT BTW)
