Furlough - Redundancy

I just had my redundancy confirmed with my notice period commencing today 22/07 ending 21/10 as I am on 3 months notice...Instead of  'paying me up', notice period holidays etc. the company is putting me on furlough from 31/07 until 21/10 so they can claim the applicable rate of furlough monies from the UK Govt during this period and then top up my notice period pay to 100% during this period...Can they do this i.e. claim furlough monies from the Govt knowing that I will be made redundant...is there a gap in the chancellors Armour here that companies can exploit as it seems the company can claim a high percentage of my notice period pay back without any questioning...welcome any feedback...thanks
Mike

It seems to be the case, yes. You will continue to accrue holiday, although they will probably make you take that during furlough as well.

Yes.  It seems wrong.  It probably is wrong.  It's within the rules, though.
