Cost of pest control

I've been quoted £264 for pest control to come out and deal with a possible mice problem in the loft. Is that a fair price for the NW of England?

I'd get the council to come for free but due to Covid, they aren't coming into peoples homes.

Would appreciate any help.

Update: I've got another quote for £370+ from a national company so i suppose the one i got earlier isn't the worst.

My local council (in Wales) offer pest control with two follow up appointments for £80. Might be worth checking?

Mine actually does it for free but are currently refusing to come into any property due to Covid.

Well i'd avoid big national companies and stick with local recommended one instead

Hi,
I have used our local council one who was as another rooster, 2 visits for £80. This was in the garage and he only put bait boxes down so I should have just done this.

I then had mice in the loft and paid privately, thought it was a bit cheaper than yours. My biggest concern was falling through the loft when trying to find where they’re coming in etc. 

OP from dealing with pests a lot I’d try and get resolved quickly as with the colder weather coming it will be a much bigger problem soon if not.

I had a squirrel problem about two months. Quoted 245 inc Vat for 4 visits for trapping rather than just poison and that had a 3 month gtee and repair of the hole

The quotes are silly money.
You could buy the traps or baits & boxes in Toolstation or Screwfix for a few £'s & do the job yourself.

Can I ask how many visits the cost was for?
In Bedford, the charges are £87 per visit.
