Hotel Closed, Return Fight cancelled, due to fly out Monday 27th, Travel Republic will not respond

Hello collective,
as per the title we have a 10 day all inclusive break booked with Travel Republic to Salou (Spain) due to fly out Monday the 27th (paid in full months ago) - 2 adults 3 children 2 bed apartment. Originally received a notification on the 3rd July saying Spain is open therefore holiday in on and we can either take the holiday or defer to a later date, if available and paying any difference. We chose to defer to next year, same price and available but no response. Sine then i have received confirmation from the hotel they are not opening this year, and the flight back is cancelled. I have tried to contact TR multiple times about this but with no response.
You hear horror stories of people turning up to their Holiday to be left stranded with no where to stay or being split up across multiple site something we want to avoid with children (one with Aspergers) however i am at at loss as to what to do to get agreement that the holiday is cancelled, or even deferred until next year. I appreciate this is 'interesting times' and am quite happy to wait any length of time for a refund but i simply do not know what my next steps should be to make sure i can get my money back and cannot see anything on their website to suggest they have the right to 'force' us to another hotel (i hope not anyway) and to be honest a quick search shows no equivalent accommodation. I have the ABTA website open to lodge a complaint and will call AMEX for advise but is there something else i should be doing?
We also have a car booked and airport parking which we have until tomorrow to cancel before we lose the money so whilst thats not the big tick item, should i cancel anyway on the assumption my holiday will be canned
any help/advice much appreciated

If you have proof that you replied to TR saying you want to defer and you have proof both hotel and flights are no operating then IMHO do not go.rjenk74 said:Hello collective,

thanks for the reply, and yes i have email confirmation from the hotel (copied to TR ticket) and screenshot of their Facebook page, i have screenshot and details of the easy jet cancellation, and a copy of all the comms from me to TR, nto sure what more can do to be honest :-(
I have since read of others who holiday shows as cancelled up to 48 hours before they due to travel so hopefully ours will do the same. certainly we will not be traveling if there is no news, i cant take that risk with kids.
