cheap spare tyres in norwich

Options
hi everyone, this is my first time posting in the motoring section so sorry if this info is somewhere else.

I am going on a trip to devon tomorrow and my tyre just blew, it isn't fixable, so i am looking for a cheap replacement until i get some more money together as all my money is in this trip. Obviously i want to be safe as i have a long journey but have very little funds readily available. so i was hoping if anyone knew of a good place to get a cheap spare or any discount codes i can use to bring the cost down on a tyre until i get paid again. it will need to be fitted. its for a 57 plate vw passat and the tyre says 235/45 R17 v xl on my tyre. thank you all for any help.

There's cheap rubbish sub £60ish, while stuff worth buying starts with the Riken or Nankang, and not going anywhere near the "Taurus" rubbish. Personally, I'd be putting the little extra in for the £78 Avon.

But none of those are fittable today. That's going to be your decider, if the trip can't be delayed... Who's got what in stock...
  • Lets hope you don't have another tyre problem whilst on your trip, what will you do then?

this is why i said i need a cheap option until i get paid. when i get paid i will look for a better tyre, i am looking for a cheap tyre i can use as a spare for the "just in case" situation.
  • Fair enough, enjoy your trip :)

    Then phone round scrapyards.
  • There's a couple of garages I sometimes use you could try.  Melrose Garage just off Mile End road (off between Unthank Road and the roundabout on Newmarket Road) and Gilchrist Motors (down by B&Q on Hall Road).

They're both independent "back street" garages and they always seem reasonable.  Ask if they can help.
