Halifax Clarity card - "non promotional transfer"

Can anyone help me understand something in the terms and conditions of the Halifax Clarity card - under "fees and charges", "promotional balance transfer fee" is 3% and likewise "promotional money transfer fee" is 3%. And then "non-promotional balance transfer fee" is zero and "non-promotional money transfer fee" is also zero. I'm confused about how I would know whether any given transfer is "promotional" or not?
I've only just applied for this card (not even received yet), I'd like to do a money transfer when I receive it (and then a balance transfer from another card) but I won't do it if there's a 3% fee. Thanks

A promotional transfer is one that they specifically tell you about - eg at 0% or a low rate.
Non-promotional will be at your standard rates.0 -
I think you'll find that the promotional rate has a fee but no interest, while the non-promotional rate incurs interest but has no fee.0

Halifax Clarity will charge you a fee for a balance transfer or Money transfer.
Not many if any cards on the market now have no fees at all during a promotional period.0 -
I'm not interested in a promotional period. I thought that the Clarity Card would allow me to do a money transfer for a 0% fee (but which does attract interest). That's what I'm looking for and that's what the T&C's and other posters on here have led me to believe is possible.jonesMUFCforever said:Quote

So what's your problem?I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Now that I have the card when I go into the app I have the option to do a balance transfer (not what I'm looking for) but when I look at money transfer and click "view money transfer options" it just says "sorry, there are no offers currently available on your card. Offers are regularly reviewed so this may change soon". Am I missing something, I thought the money transfer was a feature that could be done at any time and not just when there is an offer/promotion?0

Lots of card providers have reduced/removed the money transfer option just now. It's basically a loan, and loans are hard to come by.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Currently that I don't seem to have the option of doing a money transfer because the app says there are no offers availableShakin_Steve said:So what's your problem?

Oh. Ok. I'm sure it was on the list of features of the card when I applied for it which was only last week. Is it only available when there's an offer then? I thought it was something you could do at any time (hence why there was both promo and non-promo rates)Shakin_Steve said:Lots of card providers have reduced/removed the money transfer option just now. I get that now, but didn't until the post after mine. Basically, credit providers can lend to whoever they want, and refuse credit to whoever they want. They have decided that you can use your card to spend or do a balance transfer, but you cannot do a money transfer.Barclaycard reduced the money transfer amount on my card to £1000, Tesco left it as 95% of my credit limit. Nowt anyone can do, I'm afraid.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0
