Problem with Booking.com

I’ve booked flights through Kiwi.com which were subsequently cancelled and a refund is coming. I booked my hotel through Booking.com, for nearly £4K. I obviously can’t get there because flights are cancelled and they are refusing a refund. booking.com are useless and I’m struggling to get traction with Virgin Money Credit Card which I used to pay for the holiday. Any suggestions. I’ve raised a chargeback request and complained but running out of ideas

I had no problem with booking, you need to contact the hotel for refund, not booking.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0

Yes did that but they only offered a vouchers. My contract is with Booking.com though - I paid them not the hotel0

Is the hotel open and accepting guests? If so, your chargeback will fail. You should really be speaking to your travel insurers to see if the situation is covered, is there FCO advice regarding the country you are travelling to? if yes, does your policy cover this? if not, can you find replacement flights with another airline?
If open and you booked a non-refundable rate and not covered by your insurance policy, a voucher may be the best you can hope for.
note there are different rules if this had been booked as a package. Flight cancellation would have triggered refund of everything0 -
What were the cancellation terms of the hotel booking? If you booked a non-refundable rate then you won't get a refund from Booking.com, the hotel, or your credit card.0

Why would they refund just because you can't get there? That's your problem, not theirs.
If the hotel is closed, then you're entitled to a refund - but if they're open then you're not and need to claim on your travel insurance.0
