When is it safe to post an item after it has been paid for using paypal?

HI does anyone know when it is safe to post an item after it has been paid for using paypal? The funds appear in my paypal account but I keep hearing things about waiting until funds have cleared before posting. We have just sold our Mac and a camera so they are expensive items and I just want to be sure. Many Thanks.

You have to post straightaway. If they want to make a clam it doesn't really matter if the funds are cleared or not.

As they are expensive items just check that you are posting to a confirmed address.

    Those pesky clams...... ;)

As H says, post straight away.
Payment is "cleared" once you get it in your paypal acc.

Make sure their address is confirmed, and your posting method covers the appropriate value of your items.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

The only time you need to wait for paypal to clear is when it's an echeque... and that would be fairly obvious.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

for high value items make sure you use a proper trackable delivery service.
recorded delivery/courier POD etc... is not good enough for PP protection.
    Get some gorm.
  • Hi, when you say a proper trackable delivery service, I am selling a couple of high value jewellery items and was going to use special delivery, would this be OK do you think?
    Thanks

Sorry thats bad advice to send straight away.

If its a high value item i would wait a couple of days, ive had payment for a item then next day ebay reversed it because it was a stolen card, luckily i hadnt sent it so didnt loose out, but if i had sent it same day as payment i would have lost out

how long do you wait then? a few days? 2 weeks?
    unfortunatly the buyer has paid.
if you send via SD and to a confirmed address then you would have your sellers protection would you ont?
