Ryanair - added extras

Hello,
I’ve managed to book a weekend getaway to Palma in August with my partner, flying with RyanAir. I wondered if I still needed to pay for my seat or will they place booking parties together to keep ‘bubbles’ together on the flight? There’s no information on their website about it and I don’t want to pay for seats if I don’t need to!
Thanks

Ryanair are well known for issuing random seats apart to passengers who choose not pay to sit together. This has been reported also during covid times. If you don't want to pay, I would guess there is 99%+ chance that you will be sat apart.
This is their business model...you don't get what you don't pay for. They will have forecast that x% of passengers will pay. If they started seating people together for free, the word would spread and numbers that decide not to pay would reduce (so they would subsequently need to increase the flight costs)
How much will it cost to select seats?

  • Standard seats aren't very expensive to book.   Like Caz says if it is important for you to sit together I wouldn't leave it to fate.  People complain all the time about Ryanair and the extras but don't realise they don't get it for free on other airlines - they just pay more in first place.   We don't always bother booking seats for short distances because we don't care if we sit together or not.  We often are sat over the aisle from each other but its just chance.   I am really intrigued to know how airlines are handling the distancing guidelines?

If it bothers you, pay to sit together - they're under no obligation to sit booked parties together. I'd certainly be paying up.
