  • I had purchased some goods from Dreams On interest free credit and at the time of purchase which about 2 years a go I was not clearly informed that there will be a 3rd party taking the money form by bank account. So on checking my bank statement I had a company called Creation taking money from my bank. I contacted the bank and asked them for details to which they replied they have no details. The bank suggested that I should cancel the direct debit and claim. When that was done creation contacted me and informed that it was for the goods purchased from Dreams. I reinstated the account paid the fine after which I realised my credit score had decreased drastically. It wasant my intent to do any of that had I known who I was paying. Please can you suggest what I should write to creation so they could potentially remove the default on my credit file. As for my first conversation they asked me to get a letter from my bank stating that they are the one who suggested cancelling the direct debt and claiming the money, which I managed to get and they still didn’t do anything. Please suggest!!

You could ask Creation nicely, but keep your expectations very low.

Your credit agreement would have told you who was collecting the DD, as well as the DD mandate.  The sum would also have been the same as the amount you were expecting to pay for your new furniture, so should have been a clue.
