Help configuring a Netgear WAC720 Access Point

The access point managed to reset itself and the wireless signal is now called Netgear_11ng. I want to change it.
I took it down, plugged in a power supply, then connected it to my laptop via the network socket.
The default admin IP address should be http://192.168.0.100 but when I try this I get site can't be reached. I've pinged the IP and get destination host unreachable.
All the lights on the AP are on. I've tried resetting it a few times. I've tried with Chrome and Edge. Can't access the admin console. Laptop is HP Windows10.
I'm not the most techie person. Can anyone help me?

  • You need to set your laptop to a fixed IP address in the same range as the access point. Google should be able to help you set a fixed IP address.

I fiddled around a bit and this only went and worked! I've literally spent hours (many hours!) Googling and trying various things with no joy. Thank you so much  :)
