Teletext Holidays/RyanAir Flights

We were booked to go to Salou in August 2020, booked via Teletext Holidays as a package. Flights with RyanAir. RyanAir have cancelled our return flight. We have tried to contact Teletext Holidays via phone and email with no meaningful response. Spoke to them when the return flight was first cancelled, and they told us to wait until the end of June, after which time the outgoing flight would certainly also be cancelled and then a refund would be processed. Fast forward to today, outgoing flight still live on RyanAir "My Bookings Page" and incoming flight still showing as cancelled. I want to get a refund for the whole holiday. I don't want to fly, I don't want to go on a holiday with serious restrictions and basically only get "half a holiday". We are due to fly on 20th August but have heard nothing from Teletext. What do we do?

Given that you've booked a package, you are protected here. One of two things will happen:
a) Teletext Holidays find you an alternative return flight
b) Teletext Holidays do not/cannot find you an alternative return flight and therefore cannot provide the package so have to give you a full refund.
I would say b) is a lot more likely than a). Your trip is still a month away, so presumably Teletext Holidays are dealing with customers who are due to depart sooner. Their website does say they will be in contact with those whose holidays are affected and to be patient etc. That said, Teletext aren't exactly the best agent in normal times, let alone now, so it may require a degree of pro-activity on your part (and a lot of holding on the phone!)
You could take control of your Ryanair booking now, and start a refund request for the flights. You have to go through a verification process with Ryanair, details of which can be found https://www.ryanair.com/gb/en/refundfaqs/screenscraperbookings One point to note though, if you do this I've no idea if it would have any impact on getting a refund for the rest of the package from Teletext or whether they would claim you broke the contract with them etc1 -
You've confirmed most of what we thought already which is great. I do feel that as a package deal, it shouldn't be up to us to deal with Ryanair. I think you're right in thinking that if we did cancel the flights we'd be throwing away any chance of a refund on the rest of the holiday. More hours sat listening to rubbish on hold music then!!0
