Insurance

Options
To whom it may concern,

Since moving address I had a road traffic accident that cost me £800. When I got another car, due to writing my first one off, I chose a smaller car and they then charged me a further £700 on top of previous charges.
I couldn't get on with a smaller car so I decided to go back to exactly the same car in which I had in the first place, which the encurred me a further £800, again, on top of both previous raises in my insurance.
My insurance now has gone from £65 a month to £238 per month.

I would like to know whether I am being scammed left right and centre, as I am sure they are trying to claim back the money from my claim, when I have tried a quote for exactly the same insurance, on exactly the same vehicle, with the same address but next doors number and this came out considerably cheaper.

Could you please advise where I stand on this. I know for a fact that people who have only just got their license back after being disqualified from driving are paying less than I am. This to me is a problem.

I eagerly look forward to your response.

Kind regards,
Jane

My daughter paid around £2,000 per year when she was 18, she hadn't had an accident.

Smaller car doesn't automatically mean cheaper insurance. My 19 year old son went from a 1.3L Ford Fiesta to a 2.0L Mondeo Estate and saw his insurance DROP by £500 from £1250 to £750. The reason is that a lot of Ford Fiestas driven by young drivers get wrapped around trees, put in ditches and rear end others whereas very few Mondeos do.
