Need Easy Jet Help

I booked return tickets to Italy with EasyJet for myself and my family in November last year. We are due to fly on 5th August and return 15th August. We do not intend to travel and actually our accomodation wa cancelled months ago and we have been waiting to see what happens with our flights to know if we could claim a refund or not. Yesterday I logged into my bookings to see that our retun flight has been changed. Its showing a different flight number and it departs almost 12 hours earlier than the original flight. I have received no notification from EasyJet about this change to our flight and if I hadn't logged into my bookings I wouldn't have realised. When I look at my bookings there is now no reference at all to the fact that we were originally booked onto a different flight. It looks as though we were on that flight from the start. There is no reference to the flight being changed or cancelled and no option to claim a refund.
I have downloaded the receipt PDF directly from them and it shows that on 15th July they effectively cancelled the return flights - the recipt shows the cost of the flights being deducted and then instantly the same amount is used to purchase 6 seats on the new flight. As this is not showing on my bookings and because Iv'e had no email notifiaction from them informing me of this change I can't see any way of asking for a refund. I've emailed customer services and filled in a form online but I'm not gonna hold my breath! I tried calling earlier too but I'm working at the same time and after over an hour and a half on hold I had to put the phone down.
Am I correct in thinking that if they have cancelled our return flight they have to refund us for the whole journey? I've attached a screen grab of what is showing on my EasyJet invoice.
If anyone can help I would massively appreciate it!

As your flight has been cancelled you are entitled to a refund or a reroute. Most airlines will reroute automatically, which seems to be the case here. But you are entitled to a refund if you wish. This is your right under EU261.
You'll need to get in touch with easyJet to ask for this. All you can realistically do is wait and hope for them to respond or keep trying to actually get through and speak to someone.1
