Wedding postponed

Hi we had our wedding moved by the venue in June to June next year but the date is now a Wednesday and not a Saturday we also have one less day to prepare at the venue than was originally discussed but otherwise could all go ahead is it would have this year, we signed a variation to contract which said all original contract terms apply. After feeling the pressure to get this booked in and now the dust has settled we have decided to not go ahead as planned and arrange a different wedding due to family and other personal things. We had paid a date secure deposit and one further Instalment. Would be be in a position to press for any of this as a refund ? The insurance says if we cancel we are not covered, but wasn’t sure given the circumstances. Or more concerning the final balance is due 12 weeks before new date so wanted to check we are under no legal obligation to pay any more money if we walk away.

Can the wedding venue you have already booked do a different date to suit you? or are you dead set against still having it there now. 
The only way to find out is to call your insurance and see but if you have signed to move the date i imagine you won't have much luck.
