I was made redundant just before lockdown and paid 6 months notice which exhausts next month, am I entitled to any government benefits or am I expected to use my savings to live?

Savings over 16k would rule you out of means tested benefits like Universal credit and council tax reduction. However if you have paid sufficient NI contributions over the past 2-3 years you may be able to claim New style JSA.0
