How to claim refund for non cancelled flight Ryanair

We have return flights booked with Ryanair, due to depart 3rd August. I have submitted a claim for a refund as we cannot travel due to health reasons. GP letter added to claim. NO response from Ryanair but livechat confirmed it is 'in the system'.
I can claim via insurance but will lose £450 in excess charges.
Should I look at selling flights...but we have already checked in and there is a charge of £100 plus per name change, so again will lose £400 plus.
Not sure what to do as Ryanair are unlikely to respond before we are due to fly....and we have not confirmation that they will accept our claim.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.

You wont get a penny from Ryanair if the flight operates.1

As above.
From your post 4 people booked and they all have health reasons?
Can anyone travel at all?
You can perhaps claim from insurance, but they may only pay out for the people with health reasons? Someone will advise.
Were these health reasons declared at time of taking out policy?
If you all decide not to go then personally agree with bradders1983.

Ryanair is under no obligation to refund you if you cannot travel.1

I think your only real hope is if Ryanair cancel the flights. Where are you flying to? As previous said, you won't get anything back from Ryanair if flights going ahead. I doubt you would get insurance to pay out either well certainly not for four of you. Realistically you would be unlikely to get anyone to buy them from you either unless there is a surge in demand for wherever you are going to and as you say you would have to pay the cost of transferring into different names (which is risky also).
Obviously I don't know where you are headed to so don't know why you have decided you don't wish to go. Is there a hotel involved somewhere? Not really the issue but just wondering if you might reconsider going if it is purely fear of covid that is stopping you?1 -
For operating flights Ryanair do have the discretion to refund for "Death or Serious Illness" - I would expect for Serious Illness you would likely need to be hospitalised so, if that is not the case, I would not expect anything from them.
Unlikely to be worth trying to sell flights due to the costs and having to find someone that wants to travel your route on your dates (otherwise it will cost them even more for changes)
You could hold off till nearer time in case they cancel then, if not, you have the choice of paying to change your dates (flights are released for next year) or, assuming each passengers insurance covers their illness, make claim with them and lose whatever excess you chose.1
