Vulnerable Hedge Clipper Power cable

The cable on mine was bright orange and it didn't stop me cutting through it! Rechargeable is the way to go.

Mistral001 said:Maybe they have found that cutting the cable does not prove a health risk, which is probably quite true. With a double insulated tool you get some pretty sparks but there is no danger then. The danger comes from the innocent looking cut end!Mind you, many of us now have 80 milliamp trips on outdoor circuits. I remember putting mine in around 1989 , so hardly cutting edge now.

Like you I have a circuit breaker. The main downside is having to pratt around getting hold of and fitting a cable connector. If anyone has experience of Mighty Bright Tape, are all colours equally "bright"?Telegraph Sam

In the end I got hold of some S/A 3M dayglo tape and wrapped it round the black cable. A fiddly task but at least it provides a visual reminder to keep the cable over my shoulder when in an "exposed" position. With hedge clippers I am more and more coming round to the view that weight saving is a big practical plus and having to support a r/c battery at arm's length preferably something to be avoided.Telegraph Sam

May be some inventive kind of person could kindly suggest or locate some sort of an attachment to prevent the power cable from slipping off one's shoulder at the critical moment.Telegraph Sam
