Barely 800 signatures? Looks like people have twigged that HTB is just help to borrow to help developers sell overpriced plots?karynS said:
Will do. In the meantime - I came across this, there's not many takers but there might be if it starts to get the hype on MSE :-) https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/331592JoseKangu said:Hi there, my partner and i are in the same situation. Right from the begining we were assured our house would be completed by December 31 but now they have come back saying that they cannot confirm this anymore (Charles Church homes). We need to exchange soon and our legal advisor is saying that its our risk if the new build is not complete by Decemeber meaning we lose our deposit. How is this even fair? why would we lose a 20k deposit on something that is not even ours. We will investigate our options with our legal advisor and help to buy agent but there surely has to be a way around this. Karyn please keep this post updated and i will also update on our situation. Thanks everyone
well either way it seems the tide is now swinging to an extension. lets be positive for the announcement this week

That does help a bit, but it’s only an extra two months, so still a worry for the OP, Karyn. She is on track to sell her current property shortly, but there is no guarantee that the property she wants to buy will be ready in time for the new deadline. That’s why most people try to sell their existing property simultaneously with buying the new one. Anything else is a big risk .No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
