Home Insurance and boxing in pipes

I'm about to get a new kitchen put in my house and the design layout proposes some combi boiler pipes to be boxed in. Do home insurances cover for this or should I keep the pipes more open?

What do you mean "do insurers cover this"?
Insurers won't pay to box your pipes in for your kitchen design. If there as a fire and the boxing was damaged after the kitchen had been put in then your Buildings insurance would cover repairing it.0 -
I suspect the OP is asking if boxing in the pipes, and therefore potential leaks not being spotted as quickly, will affect any insurance claims.

It's pretty standard for pipes not to be on display and leaks to be eg under floorboards. Can't see it mattering for insurance.0

Ideally you'd want to ensure any policy contains Trace & Access cover. This covers the cost of a builder having to tear apart your house to find a leak and subsequently repair the damage cause. Some cheaper policies won't include T&A cover. In some instances these claims can run into extremely high amounts so it's not a risk which should be omitted in my opinion.0

Ignoring the insurance aspect, maybe you want to consider boxing with removable panels for inspection - maybe by screws or hidden fixings.
So if you suspect a leak you can unscew/unclip a panel in a couple of minutes, rather than making a T&A insurance claim.0 -
Eddddy has it right.
Make everything access for future problems.
