Laptop audio/video sync issue

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm having.
Whenever I am videoconferencing or watching a video, I have issues with syncing. Particularly, there will be intermittent crackling with the sound and this will appear to create a lag between the sound and the video. The crackling will happen every 10 seconds or so and, over time, the audio and video will become noticably out of sync.
This happens with all audio/video but I've noticed it particularly with youtube and zoom. The delay just gets greater and greater.
I have no idea what is going on or what I can do (if anything). The laptop is only 6 months old so hopefully it is not dying already.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I usually make a point of not bothering to reply to threads that take the unhelpful stance of not bothering to post the details of the device involved. I mean, what are you thinking?
Chances are that your device is just poor. I'm guessing a Celeron processor. Though personally, I don't have those issues with an even weaker CPU.
BMAX MaxBook Y11?
Someone else may take the time to troubleshoot with you.

It would be helpful to give us full specs, including whether it's a hdd or an ssd.
I know Domestos kills 99% of germs, but I'm worried about the 1% that got away.1 -
Sound that crackles on laptops is almost always caused by the sound driver being out of date (or its lost it and is now using the generic "High Definition Audio Device" driver). You can get the latest driver from the website of the computer manufacturer.

I genuinely didn't think to post my specs - my bad, sorry.

Have a look in your events log. I had this problem on my HP Envy that has an ssd. Videos would stutter even though all drivers were up to date. When I troubleshooted it appeared the ssd at certain times would miss data flow when viewing videos. It was a while ago but I think I improved it by turning on TRIM for the ssd. Even now some videos can become out of sync on my gaming MSI so I use VLC which has an option to audio track sync.

Thanks for those who offered help. I downloaded the relevant drivers but it didn't work. Eventually, I solved the problem by going through the reset procedure. Thanks again0
