BRITISH AIRWAYS VOUCHER/ REFUND

My flight with British airways recently got changed from Gatwick- Heathrow I phone customer service to see if I could get a refund or if it was only vouchers. The lady I spoke to informed me I had 3 options ; go ahead with new flight, vouchers or full refund. I went to my booking selected ‘manage booking’ entered the flight details and number and then it automatically sent me vouchers - no where on the site/ did the lady inform me that it would automatically do this. I called the customer service team back and the man said he couldn’t do anything as I’d been sent the vouchers he gave me a number that is no longer in service. So I called back later another man said I was misinformed twice - that refunds were only over the phone and that the number given hasn’t been used in months. I immediately emailed customer services (after speaking with the second gentleman) but I haven’t had a reply and don’t know how likely / what to do to get a refund rather than the vouchers which I’m highly unlikely to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as a student who has no money left after this voucher scam!!

Gatwick to Heathrow airport isn’t classed as a significant enough change to warrant a refund I’m afraid, I’m not sure why you were advised that as it’ll be in your t’s and c’s as a change they can make to the booking.
Did the flight go anyway?0 -
There is a problem getting a refund where a voucher has already been issued.
That said you were misled that a changed from one London airport to another is sufficient for you to cancel and have a refund if your ticket was non refundable. Keep pursuing their mistake, BA usually keep recordings of calls, so hopefully they will be able to retrieve the calls and see the mistake was at their end.
If your ticket was a reward (Avios) booking or booked after their "Book with confidence" deal came out in March, you should be entitled to a refund in any case.

when you were given the options were you undecided on which option you wanted? I am confused about why you did not request the refund whilst on the phone rather than doing it online.cgdav1z said:The lady I spoke to informed me I had 3 options ; go ahead with new flight, vouchers or full refund. Not sure about the current position but my cancelled BA flight in April, the online Refund button referred to voucher so I called them and it was processed over phone (payment received a couple of days later)0 -
I was with a party of other people who had a flight with easyJet which became available for me but it took some time for BA to answer so I didn’t go straight ahead with the refund incase the ticket for easyJet had sold. The lady on the phone stated I had the all 3 options but did not state I had to do this over the phone so I did it online and clicked ‘manage my booking then cancel’ and it auto gave me vouchers.0

I'm in exactly the same boat.
Clicked Manage MY Booking - Cancellation Options
Immediately got a message that a voucher had been issued.
BA changed their site to trick people into this. They are now hiding behind the fact that "a voucher has been issued"
I never requested a voucher - I want a refund.
How to proceed when BA stonewall at every turn?
It's almost criminal0
