Job Retention Bonus

Fair point regarding bonus refusal. I would expect that this may be so, however also bear in mind we haven't even really started the recession impact yet. Companies will need capital to deliver next year (and save jobs)jimkelly said:It's somewhat bizarre to be advocating that companies claim the grant when they don't need it, whilst in the other threads denying support to the excluded people.
If a company has done better than expected financially from this whole situation - as some have - then, surely it is morally the right thing to do for them to refuse the bonus. Not only that, if profits exceed previous years then they should also be paying back the original furlough money - again, as selected companies have already done.
PS No one has denied support to the excluded...................they have however denied the 3 million number which for the umpteenth time is factually incorrect, as has been detailed on the other threads, and specifically the Company Directors who wish to be treated as legitimate enterprise (to reduce tax) under normal circumstances but now wish to be treated as self employed now even though they do have access to support (CBILS, BBLS, CJRS) but do not wish to avail themselves of debt and are therefore not excluded. I honestly do feel for your situation jimkelly and I am not trying to antagonise however and I know that this is a trying time (I too am a Co Director) I however accept that no scheme can be expected top pay my profits from last year................as great as that would be!

@Jonesy1977 Well, fortunately I've not been adversely affected, touch wood, but I do find it difficult to comprehend how a number (however large or small that number may be) have been left to fend for themselves through all of this and just forgotten about / brushed under the carpet.0

I am pleased to hear that @jimkelly The numbers have been picked apart on these threads time and time again, the real number is very small comparatively and the real focus should be in solving those systemic anomalies IMO. What is actually happening is that key interest groups (primarily business owners/contractors) who for all the reasons detailed in all the threads do have access to support and are not in anyway excluded are using the small number of legitimate anomalies to further their own agenda which many don't think is right or helpful.0
