Ryanair Flights to Cyprus before 1st August

Can anyone help please. I'm due to fly to Pathos on Tuesday, but the Cypriot government have restrictions in place meaning the boarders are closed to UK residents until 1st August. I've contacted Ryanair, but as far as they are concerned the flight is still going ahead, and they will not offer a refund or an opportunity to move the fights to next year (I can't go later this year). What is my next step? Travel insurance aren't interested as the flight hasn't been cancelled....

You are screwed then unless a) Ryanair cancel or b) you move the flights and incur any costs this entails.
EDIT - just seen they say you cant do b). That is odd. They can only move the flights to a time their schedules currently go up to though.0 -
have you tried to go into 'manage my booking' to see about changing the flights? Looks like they are released until end October 2021. They are waiving the change fees (fare difference only applicable) if travel up to end of year but it should still be possible to change to next year by paying the change fee plus any fare difference....although you may want to compare the costs with just buying new tickets for next year.__Emma1__ said:they will not offer a refund or an opportunity to move the fights to next year (I can't go later this year).
Also worth a read of your travel insurance policy just to check the information they gave you is correct.0 -
Have another read of your travel insurance policy and double check you are not covered. Most policies do cover you if FCO advice is not to travel, or Government restrictions mean you cannot travel. It will of course depend on your level of cover.
I'm sure Ryanair will let you move the flights - do you mean they won't let you move the flights for free?0
