Groupon refund credit expired & lost?

Hi folks,
I've serched this forum and the general internet but not come across any answers to my situation and hope you can help.

We made a purchace through groupon which the courier failed to deliver then returned to sender, on contacting groupon they confirmend the tracking evidence and agreed to issue a refund, they sugested creating a credit so we could then purchase the item again. Unfortunately due to time constraints the credit did not apear in our account soon enough and we ordered a replacement and paid for it again to ensure delivery before we departed on holiday. We were not overy concerned as the credit apeared in our account around 24hrs later and we would probably make another purchase of another item the same if this one was worth while.
Since then weve not seen another deal on the items but have just oticed that our REFUND credit has expired and been told there is no way they can reinstate it or refund it to our bank.

Surely this goes against some consumer rights? I'm not totaly versed with all the CR fineprint.
groupon reps have said we would of been made fully aware of this at the time but I have checked through the information and comunications we had at the time from groupon and nowhere does it say that we would loose our money if not used.
Nowhere i can find int groupons FAQ or T&Cs that state the refund credit for something not recieved would be lost.
I can understand if it was a voucher we had not redeamed in a time limited deal but this was not the case in this instance.

What is our best course of action now? the refund was made on 27/719 and aparently expired on 26/7/20. Is it posible to persue through our bank or is it a case of pressurising groupon. I'd posibly accept a credit on our account though the monetery value returnd to us would be favourable.

We have made a few purchaces through groupon and been happy enough with there service.

Thanks in advance.

It’s only 19/7/20 so how has it expired?

Have you written to them to show that the credit you received didn't come with any expiry date in the accompanying paperwork/text?

    Hi,
I haven't written a hard copy as everything is on email and chat, (of which I have a transcripts).

I have stated that all other communications and their small print in T&C and FAQ.
But they just keep saying it can't be reinstated.
