Facilities not open in hotel, discount?

Morning all, 

Got a question, I've pre booked for a hotel and I've just found out that they not looking to open a lot of the facilities. If this the case can you ask for a discount on the price of stay or we kind of stuck to paying normal prices for half the service?

Normally in the terms and conditions is a phrase like " not all facilities may be available at all times"

Hi.....well you can always ask for anything you want but whether you get it or not.... Depends what you booked and the terms etc.  If it is non refundable rate, some hotels may offer a token gesture, like free meal, bottle of wine but most hotels will not regard closure of the gym for instance a significant enough change to warrant a discount - just an irritant if you were looking forward to using it.    You don't give a lot of info though so if you booked a package which included spa treatments, it may be a different story.
