anyone had anyone had experience with ESky? Had a flight cancelled for a trip in May and still not had a refund. Had notification that the flight was cancelled in April. ESky saying they are waiting to hear from airline (Norwegian Air Shuttle). Not sure what to do to bring to conclusion. Do I continue to chase ESky, or connect with Airline or claim on travel insurance?

esky are a middleman here (not a particularly good one) you gave them money and asked them to book you a flight with Norwegian, they did and passed the money to Norwegian. They won't refund you until they receive the refund from the airline. Not sure what Norwegian's timelines are for refunding but many airlines have yet to refund for April/May flight cancellations. You could always confirm with the airline if they have issued the refund to esky but it sounds like they have not which is why you are still waiting.

Bizarrely Norwegian has turned out to be one of the best airlines at refunding, often within 7 days of the date of intended travel. Esky are therefore almost certainly sitting in your money and have been for some time! Alas, not only did you chose to pay more for your flight than booking direct with the airline, you failed to notice they are based in Katowice which makes taking action against them less than easy! Insurers will tell you to claim against the agent, and so will the airline, if you can find out when they refunded from the airline you can try and push the agent again, and next time don't book with an overseas agent
  • Thanks very thank for your responses on this. Much appreciated. I will check with the airline.
