Can anyone help hen party for 11 people booked through a company called freedom we are meant to go on 21st August for 2 nights for a spa and hen package the company is being very stubborn on a refund as they can’t offer what we have paid for 1 the hotel spa is closed
2 they are only allowing groups of 2 people in a room
3 the two events we have payed for aren’t going ahead ( dream boys and cocktail making day )

most of the money was payed by us direct a couple of the girls payed the company direct does anyone know what our customer rights are about getting a refund
the bride is really upset and stressed which is affecting her mental health

1. Sorry but I have to tell you this because I've winced all the way through that but it's PAID. Not payed.
2. Didn't the people who paid get any kind of receipt? Even if it's just a bank statement.
3. Someone needs to write a letter to the company, Freedom and say that as the things that have been paid for have been cancelled or are not fully functioning, you (they, whoever has paid) request a refund. If no joy with that, contact the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and ask for advice.
4. If any money over £100 has been paid on a credit card, then you can use Section 75 to recover the lot from the credit card company.
5. Why have some people just been paying for themselves instead of collecting all the money and then paying one lump sum? That's a recommendation for next time, if there is a next time.
6. How can there be an itinerary if nothing is going to go ahead?
7. Please tell the bride not to stress. Such a shame, weddings are supposed to be happy events. I would say it's only money. I do think you'll be able to get it back, the company just needs to know that you may be a group of women but you are NOT to be messed with!
8. Good luck! Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
