Received letter of claim

I have received letter of claim from DCBL legal, (highview parking) giving me 30 days to respond. They are claiming £680 and saying i have 4 parking tickets from 2016 all from same car park  broad centre lidl sutton in ashfield and i always paid when the machine actually worked but the machine often did not even work and now in 2020 they removed all payment machines allowing 2 hours free parking.

I have requested and received SaR all the information they given to me is 3 parking tickets (not 4 as dcbl legal is claiming)  and two reminders for each of them. no records from payment machine or anything else.

anyone have expirience with theese will they actually take me to court?
Can anyone advise if i should respond to letter of claim or just wait?

Thanks in advance

If they do take you to court, (very likely) they may struggle.  A judge mighr ask why they have waited so long, and why hey are claiming more than the law allows.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs, and in some cases, cancellation.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up later this year,

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these companies, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

    DCBL ARE SCAMMING YOU.
You do not owe the amounts they claim as they have added fake amounts which is unlawful.
DCBL are known as the old debt scammers because like you, they are chasing old tickets which shows that Covid is causing money problems for the likes of Highview

As you have 30 days to reply, you must. Deny any debt and if Highview have told you have 3 tickets and DCBL say their are are 4, ask DCBL about the 4th ticket, no need to help them as to ticket numbers, let then work it out for themselves ?
Then ask DCBL on what legal authority do they have to add on unlawful amounts. A question they cannot answer because there is no answer. They may or may not reply but it is a letter you can show the judge posing the same question,

DCBL are on the rocky road to ABUSE OF PROCESS which you can read about here and indeed refer to the cases ... there are so many ?
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6014081/abuse-of-process-district-judge-tells-bwlegal/p1?new=1

You will see a lot of court spankings for BWLegal who operate like DCBL.
DCBL came into this fakery at a late stage not understanding that BWLegal has severely damaged itself by fakery and the courts are very wise to the fake add-on scam.  DCBL are now on the same route and if they proceed with all the claims they threaten, many many courts will strike out their fakery and they will be the next fatality

PS:  DCBL don't actually know this yet ???

You should know from reading threads here that loads of people get claims from DCBLegal, as the forum is full of them...but we win!  You will also know they can't add £60 damages per PCN...but that's basic stuff, on every court/claim thread!

I have requested and received SaR all the information they given to me is 3 parking tickets (not 4 as dcbl legal is claiming)  and two reminders for each of them. no records from payment machine or anything else.
OK, so reply to DCBLegal and tell them that the SAR fro their client has only divulged 3 x PCNs, so what are they playing at and they must produce ALL the evidence they/their clients are relying upon, now, before court stage.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

According to google street view, the entrance sign says "Managed by CBRE".
Are you local? There appears to be a phone number for CBRE on the sign but it's not readable in GSV.

Google also gives clues that Savills are involved.
