Can I sell my half of a property?

There’s no outstanding mortgage on the house? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

You can't sell half a property to external parties but the occupants can certainly buy the property from you and only need to find the settlement figure you are happy with and the rest of the equity forms their deposit.
If this has all been informal and friendly and very much to your ex's advantage, financially at least, and its gone on for over 5 years without the ex trying to do the 'right thing', then its probably not going to happen unless you force it. Hopefully a little legal involvement will persuade him that it is time to take you seriously.0 -
Maybe half the attraction of your ex, is that the boyfriend can live rent free! It may test their relationship if he has to put his hand in his pocket!
I'd think it was better to put the house up for sale and split the proceeds really. If you have a good relationship with your ex, I'd push for that. Let them come to the conclusion that it would be better for them to buy you out.0 -
Why won't ex agree to sell? I can only see you talking about being bought out or selling your half. Why isn't just putting the house on the market and splitting the proceeds an option? As said before you can force this option through the court but just interested why for the last 2 years its not been the amicable way forward?0
