Sick during notice period

Options
Hi, I’m currently furloughed and getting made redundant. I will have to go back to work to work 5 weeks notice, however I suffer from depression and face going back for the 6 weeks, am I allowed to go sick and would I be entitled to full pay as usually if I’m off sick I only get SSP.

Thank you I’ve already looked into this but needed more specific advice, has anyone had any experience of this.

If your notice in your contract is at least 1 week more than your statutory notice

You’ll get your normal full pay as long as you’re at work. If you’re away from work in your notice period you’ll get what you’d normally have been paid for that absence.

For example, you might get sick pay if you’re off sick or maternity pay if you’re on maternity leave. This could be less than your normal full pay.

    Is what it states.

What was your start date and how much notice does your employer have to give you under your contract?

So you should be alright then and get paid normally, which is what the link stated. Although I would not expect a reference from them if you take that full notice period off as sick.
