Defaults

Evening ☺️
I would like some information about when defaulted accounts come off a credit report. I have an account below that is settled.
Account start date
17/02/2015
Account end date
12/11/2016

The account has payments on time then a few missed payments then some payments on time, then there were continuous missed payments before it was settled in 2016.
I would like to know if anyone could tell me when the account will come off my credit report is it from the start of the account or the end?

Many thanks

Terry

    Neither.

    It's from the default date.

They usually stay on for six years after closure. That's certainly what happened to me, anyway. So not long to go now!

So is it from the first default date regardless if there was full payments made inbetween?
  • Was the account defaulted, or are you talking about missed payments only?

Actually, I have 1 account that just has missed payments then closed. But I do have 1 account in default that I pay minimum payment too.

Where an account is closed, with no default or AP marker, 6 years from closure.

Where an account has a default, 6 years from the date of default.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Hang on though, didn't you say the account was CLOSED in 2016? So it should be six years from the closure date, as I said before, NOT the default date. I'm not sure how it could have been closed if there was still a default on it?? It shouldn't have been anyway.

It's six years from the date of default.  Stop giving people bad advice.
