Tui Phone line frustration

After 7 days of trying and 2 hours on hold the phone is finally answered. Told tui that we had had an email cancelling our holiday in September, advised that we had amended the entire package to another season as email suggested we could do at no extra cost.  Amendment fee of £971 was applied. Tui advised they had no record that our holiday had been cancelled and that we needed to call a different number. Now we are on hold again with failing hope it will be answered.

Was the amendment fee because the hotel and package was more expensive because they can charge extra for the price increase. 

No charge amendments are usually just their administrative costs that are waived at £50pp.

Its not clear what you are hoping to achieve by ringing this other number (apologies if I have misread the post)

No the price was less for the new dates in 2021. On the breakdown of cost £971 was listed as amendment fee. The holiday had been paid in full before cancellation.
