3-years ago my family and I decided to have a return holiday to florida.
We've been saving like mad, and had add our DIY holiday booked and paid in full.
First problem was we booked a flight with Thomas Cook
Really it was a flight only booking with no ATOL protection, paid on a debit card.
I did a chargeback from my bank and the money was back in my account within six weeks.
Then when booked flights for a second time through TUI.
An error occurred at the payment stage and I had to wait 84 a week to be certain that the flights hadn't been charged before booking again.
This time I decided to do it over the phone phone because I was wary of the website.
At the time I didn't realise that this booking was done by shop over 200 miles away and not through a call centre.
Once covid hit, we started to try to minimise our losses and we're really surprised how accommodating everyone was.
We had booked to stay the night before the flight at the Clayton Manchester.
1 I transferred the booking to next year at no extra charge.. this also included car parking.
The owners of the villa were also more than happy to transfer the booking to next year.
Car hire cancelled and refunded without issue.
Theme park tickets are valid up until September 2021.
The only outstanding concern was the flights.
I've been reading the forum and was expecting a stressful experience.
I received the generic TUI email on the 30th of June stating that our flights were cancelled and they would be in touch by the 10th of July.
Not only did this happen but my refund was in my account yesterday morning.
Just to show that sometimes it does go smoothly
