I think you are entitled to full pay when on holiday too even if furloughed before and after
I do not believe they have to given you any reason for dismissal in the first two years, just notice/
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

They don't have to give a reason(unless a contractual requirement), when they do give a reason they need to follow the procedures that come with that reason, in this case it appears the reason for dismissal was redundancy.
  • Hi All,

I thought I would give you an update, as you were so helpful in the first instance.

My solicitor feels he can argue that my employment was over a two year period and it looks as though they have also accepted this. They are using the standard "Polkey Deduction" and stating the outcome would have been the same if they had followed procedures correctly. We feel we have enough evidence to argue that is not the case. It looks as though they are willing to settle outside of court, but as you can imagine we are some way apart on our settlement amount.

    Thanks again for you help,

On what basis are you employing your solicitor?  Costs could end up outweighing any benefit.
