Refund when outbound flight cancelled but not inbound flight

We had return flights booked to Spain. Easyjet have cancelled our outbound flights and we have requested a refund but the inbound flight is still operating and they are not offering a refund for that. Obviously if we are not flying out we will not need a flight back. So hard to try and get hold of anyone at easy jet.

you would have probably been better requesting refund on the phone where you could have asked for refund for both flights (assuming it was on one booking) if you requested for one online then they will not know you don't want the return leg...some people will purchase a replacement outbound. It could some time to get through but worth persevering (the return may obviously be cancelled in the interim)0

Were both flights booked at same time? If so you will get a refund of both.0

Is it a return flight booking or two single flight bookings?0

I have just had easyJet refund only the outbound flight in exactly the same situation as above (they only cancelled the outbound of a return trip with both flights under the same booking reference; their online refund form only gave the option to claim a refund for 'the cancelled flight' and no other way of indicating you want the whole schedule refunded). I repeatedly tried to contact them by phone and email with no success. Just received a refund for only the outbound leg and return is still apparently flying in a few days and according to easyJet I'm still booked on it and only have the option to move the booking to a future date (which I obviously don't want). Since it was their choice to cancel the outbound, they should be refunding the whole schedule, but aren't. Their T&Cs are entirely unclear on this point (having been changed a few years ago to make it less clear what happens in this situation). Sorry to those wanting an answer: looks like you're in for a long hard struggle.0

No, because the flight operated. It was (at least in theory) available to you if you wished to use it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Again not especially helpful to most people, but I've just managed to get the return portion (which wasn't cancelled) of the same booking refunded. It wasn't otherwise going to be refunded and if I had not managed to sort this out before the flight time it would have been recorded as a no show (in spite of my attempts to contact them).
Unfortunately, the way that worked for me was to use their Flight Club phone number, which puts you through (eventually) to a different customer service team from the regular number. I could only do this because I had a Flight Club membership number (a free frequent flyer perk; different from Easyjet Plus). That number was answered within 20 minutes, compared to what seems to be a limitless hold time on the regular number.
If you want to try something similar without Flight Club membership, apparently you might have luck with this geographical number (which I haven't tried): 0161 774 9861.0
