Can you be on furlough and not paid?

Let me explain.I am zero hrs worker for the same company for many years.I was furloughed for april and may. When i recieved my payslip in may for april  i was furloughed. When i recieved my payslip for may in june i had no furlough payment but a "goodwill" gesture payment of 50%.I have been told because i work a month in hand and that the payslip was in june when i was not furloughed i am not entilted to furlough payment.Surely 2 months furlough is payable regardless of when you are paid.

What did the letter say informing you that you were to be furloughed?

Did you even receive a letter?
  • I dont remember recieving a letter, but the fact that i was paid one month and not the other due to a timing technicality seems wrong.I am sure the goverment would not have introduced a system where you lose furlough for the previous month as soon as you go back to work.It seems unlikely that a company would try to blag their way out of paying whilst still claiming.Unfortuneately employees cannot request if their company has claimed from hmrc, you can only submit a fraud application.

It depends on what the company declared to the government.

Have you checked your online tax account to see what it states that you were paid? If you haven't then i'd advise you to check it.
