There's a maple tree coming out my roses
Options
hello
I have a maple tree coming out of one of my rose shrubs. As you can see in the pictures, it seems to be coming right from the roots of the roses, so it looks like impossible to dig out.
Killing it with something will most likely result in killing the roses as well, I suppose?
Any ideas?

Get your secateurs out and cut as close to the ground as possible.

Thanks I've done that. Will keep an eye. Few ash trees as well0

Contain as many of the leaves as you can in a plastic bag and spray inside the bag with glyphosate.

Yup, agree with @Mojisola0

Can also gently paint glyphosate gel or paste onto the leaves. I've done this in a hedge without damaging the hedge.
