Health insurance claim issue

My private health insurance co are claiming that my long suffering (30 yrs) condition of bunions which are hereditary is linked to a new diagnosis of RA. How do I prove my historical bunion condition is unrelated please? Has anyone else experienced this? My question is linked to a critical illness claim. Thank you in advance.

So you are trying to make a claim on a critical illness plan due to Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Have you looked at the claim criteria for being able to claim for RA on a critical illness plan?  Typically, the severity of the RA is so severe that it makes it extremely difficult to claim as it is based around not being able to do everyday living tasks, ever again.

Has the insurer obtained a medical report?  Is there something within that which has caused them to link the conditions?  If you've only been diagnosed with RA recently and have had bunions for 30-years there's nothing there to suggest anything untoward.
