Hi all

I have some tumbling toms in planters and baskets. I currently have lots of leaves but only a few fruit per plant.
Do I need to cut them back? I was previously told to leave them be. If so how should this be done?

Many thanks

I had the same, so cut off some of the leaves that had no fruit on. This has opened up the plant, now have more flowers and green toms growing.

Try watering with Tomatorite as well. You use it as the flowers/first fruits show and it seems to stimulate the flower growth.
They're very hungry plants so it could be the compost doesn't have enough nutrients in once they've used it for growing.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Thanks - I'm already using that. I have about 8 ripening fruits between 5 plants but this seem quite low?
Do I avoid pruning them? Or should I remove some of the bulk to allow air and light through more easily?

We have left all the leaves on (masses of them) and are now getting lots of flowers/fruit. We have taken off any yellowing leaves and some round bottom of plant so can water them more easily.
Have you had flowers on them? If not may still be growing if planted late. If have had flowers perhaps not getting pollinated, we give the stems a shake every day when flowering so get pollinated.
