Tui - October half term
No kids club
Onsite children’s play park is closed
No sauna, gym or indoor swimming pool.
No luggage storage facilities (this one not bothered about as our return flight is midday)
We don’t know how the AI aspect will work yet which is fine and the masks part doesn’t particularly bother us either.
The hotel has an onsite water park which is one of the main draws for booking alongside other activities aimed for the 9 and 6yrs old children and we’ve tried to contact the hotel via email to see how they plan to operate this and any other changes they might have in place but they haven’t responded and I suspect the hotel is actually still currently closed.
I suspect TUI will say these changes aren’t significant enough but we have chosen the hotel with our kids in mind and certainly no longer value for the price paid anymore.
Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.

If the hotel doesn't reopen then they'll offer you an alternative.2

We had a holiday booked with Tui for earlier in October so our final balance payment arrived without any contact from them. We decided we didn’t want to go away this year so elected to move to next September. The holiday is slightly more expensive and they’ve charged us £50 per person to amend. However, we felt our only options were to amend or forfeit the deposit. At this point, other than the amendment fee, there isn’t nothing more to pay until June 2021.1

I had this thought in the back of my mind and I’m aware that they are allowed to do so in the t’s and c’s.Thrugelmir said:If the hotel doesn't reopen then they'll offer you an alternative. There are only 3 other hotels in the resort that TUI offer, 1 off which doesn’t offer A/I as a board basis so I would assume they wouldn’t offer that one. Had a look at the other 2 also and they (in my opinion) aren’t comparable alternatives as neither have the onsite water park that this one does and they have the same restrictions in terms of things available to children. My guess is though that won’t be of much concern to TUI.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.1 -

I totally understand why you felt you only had those options.
We are restricted to school holidays sadly as my job is term time so I fully expect if we do choose to move it then it will be more expensive, and then like you say £50pp to amend it too. Well I have a week yet so let’s see what happens 🤞🏻1 -
I would phone the hotel and ask the questions directly rather than email.0

Thanks for taking the time to respond.I noticed something about water parks on the TUI website:TUI STANDARDS GUARANTEED
We promise you’ll have a brilliant TUI holiday. If there are any significant changes at your hotel, resort or destination, which will stop this from happening, we won’t take you there.
• You’ll see some changes on your next TUI holiday, but we’ll make sure this isn’t anything significant enough to get in the way of you having a great time.
• So, for example, if you’ve booked a beachside hotel or villa and the beach is closed, we’d consider that to be a significant change.
• Another significant change could be if you’re going on a waterpark holiday and the pools are closed. Or, if your board basis changes and All Inclusive is no longer available. Another example is if you’ve booked a Multi-Destination holiday and it can no longer go ahead in multiple locations as planned.
• If there are due to be significant changes, we’ll get in touch with you directly to discuss alternative holidays, arrange a credit refund voucher or a cash refund.https://www.tui.co.uk/destinations/info/our-promise-to-you
