Travel Summer 2021

Hello,
We were due to go on our honeymoon this summer to US/Canada and of course have had to cancel. Fortunately we have recoveredoat of the costs and are hoping rebook for next summer but are not quite sure if this is sensible to book right now. We are keen to book flights as they have just been released and therefore much more affordable than if we wait until next year to book. (We would look to book free cancellation hotels). As we are still in the pandemic we understand that our insurance (through bank) would not cover us should there still be restrictions in place next summer and our flights be cancelled, though I think we would be covered for medical expenses should we get ill, or contract the virus whilst out there.
I wondered if anyone else is having a similar dilemma? I believe there is specific coronavirus insurance available but I don't know much about this, what it would cover and if it is worth the money. I also believe that if we added a hotel or rental car to the booking, it would become a 'package' holiday and we would only need to pay a deposit for now. This is appealing but I suspect there would be a hefty cancellation fee if we decided not to travel nearer the time?

I'm sure trailfinders are offering insurance that also covers cancellation and curtailmentEx forum ambassador
