Private Eye - issues from 1970s and 1980s in Binders. Where to sell?

Options
I have over 1,000 issues of Private Eye to get rid of dating from 1965 to 2011, and putting them on eBay issue by issue would take years. I have binders with complete years in, from 1972 - 1984 but apart from eBay I don't know anyone who would take these for sale. Is it worth picking up the odd one or two missing issues for the years 1985 - 2011 so I can offer a complete year in a binder, or am I wasting my time? Private Eye was always printed on cheap paper, so the older issues are yellow with age.

Do a search on eBay for completed listings , some that feature ‘famous’ stories do eventually sell, but for prices that would only net you pennies.

You  could try Facebook to sell the whole batch in one go, or just charity shop them.

There are often ads in the back of Private Eye offering complete or partial collections for sale. That's probably your best bet. Don't expect to get rich on the proceeds!

You may be better off framing some front covers (or the whole magazine). There must be some interesting ones in there. You should be able to pick up some cheap frames for the size of the magazine.

  • I agree with GabbaGabbaHey - the first place I'd try to sell them is the ads at the back of Private Eye itself.
