Teletext Holiday Mis Sold

Can anyone help/offer advice please - booked Package holiday with Teletext holidays, found out the hotel will now be closed when we are due to go (in 4 days time!!!) but flights (Ryan air) still live. Been told we have to except alternate accommodation or loose all our money. If they can’t find an alternate hotel they will refund the cost of the hotel but not the flights?! Surely this can’t be right if we booked as a package? Also the company are saying they don’t have to sort alternate out until we fly over!!! Desperately need help/advice!

Does the ATOL certificate definitely state package holiday? Seems a bit iffy that they would cancel it but say you can’t have a refund for all of it because that doesn’t sound like a package to me...0

Also having this same issue with teletext. I was supposed to leave today. Last week we told them the hotel was closed, they said we need to find another hotel(this was done by email) replied asking about hotel options but their next email just said about credit note - still not had confirmation it is going to be for the full amount, but will be arguing the case it should be.0

Have you read the terms and conditions you booked under louise? Sorry to harp on about t's and c's but just had a quick squint at teletext holidays. They are referring to multi contract packages, not package holidays per se and stating your contract is with the individual sections and not them? Do you have an ATOL certificate stating 'package' holiday (as Mrsn asks). Could make all the difference.
mrsJeckyl, well you will either be on your way now or arguing your case. Let us know how you get on.0 -
Multi contract packages are still package holidays however you dress them up. Yes, you end up with separate contracts for flights and accommodation but the organiser Teletext is still legally responsible to replace one part if it falls away or refund the full amount you paid.0

Mmmm...sincerely hope you are right Alan but if flights are going ahead, and the money has already been paid to the airlines by these agents then how are they supposed to pay the money back? The airlines won't refund as the flights are available. The banks probably won't look at a refund for same reason? Even if it is law, if they haven't got the money, they haven't got the money so I think it might be a fight on our hands - blood/stone type of thing? What do you do if they don't pay for flights that are going ahead and the terms clearly state the contract is with the airline? Still not convinced the OP will get her money back for the flights but am anxiously waiting (and hoping) to be proved wrong.
In fact, we are now coming to a time where people ARE going to be travelling and I am looking forward to hearing if the holidays were successful with the restrictions in place or if a complete wash out? I suppose like most things in life, it will be up to the individuals to make the most of it?0
