Jet2 flights going ahead

Hi guys,
We’re worries about losing the money for our flights this summer.
Our Jet2 flights are likely to go ahead in August to Greece. Our hotel is closed as they don’t feel safe opening this year & have said most of the resort is closed also.
We can’t find suitable alternative accommodation & TBF there is nothing comparable to what we had booked.
We can move our flights to summer 2021 but would need to pay £2000-3000 Additional money due to crazy prices.
Our travel insurance bought August 2019 have said nothing they can do. Credit card have said the same.
As flights are flying.
Is there anything further we could consider here please?
We can’t afford to lose our flight money this year, and it’s awful for our three children, as we save so hard to try to go on holiday.
But it feels like we’re losing this money.
Many thanks for any help

Try and sell the flights to someone else.
Book different accommodation.
Don't go and lose the money.
Pick one from three.1 -
Many thanks.
We paid £2000. Flights are now £17 this year. So selling not really an option.0 -
A difficult situation but to be honest, very few people could afford to lose £2K. There must be some available accommodation surely even if it doesn’t measure up to your booked hotel? But look at this another way, do you want to forfeit your £2K or throw more money at a holiday you consider second best? Or go away with your children and give them the best time you can in the sunshine!1

Agree with pattycake. Nothing much you can do about getting flight money back but what I would do right now is nothing! Wait until much nearer the time of departure, who knows the flights just may be cancelled still? (on the basis nobody knows what is happening from one day to the next) If not, then there is bound to be somewhere you can book into. Greece isn't opening up quickly but by August there may be more options? What have you got to lose by waiting? Good luck.
