My AA renewal is due in September. Any advise on getting a good deal? Anyone recommend the parts and garage cover?

..Mine is due up in the next week and I so far I have spent over an hour just trying to contact them to have the usual annual battle to get them to reduce their unjustifiable 20% increase from last year. Every year it is the same, but these games must be played. Although I am now looking at green Flag for half the price...(Would not touch the RAC after all the bad reviews I have seen...)

We rejoined AA this year but are expecting a large increase at renewal time so will be leaving again if they try that.0

Use a comparison site to get alternative quotes.
We are with Start Rescue, good service when called upon, fair price at renewal so our third year with them.0 -
Consider going for the Nationwide FlexPlus bank account instead and you won't need to worry about renewing. It's £13 a month or £156 a year and includes phone insurance for all the family, europe breakdown cover and worldwide travel insurance. If you use all 3 it's very money-saving.
Cover is provided by LV I think. Never had to use it.1 -
Don't just look at the AA. Look at all providers. The "big two" are always far more expensive, especially on renewal, than rivals.swansea_lad said:My AA renewal is due in September. Any advise on getting a good deal? Anyone recommend the parts and garage cover?
As for the "parts and garage" cover - self-insure... Remember, it's just an insurance policy that pays - and it's priced so that it's a profitable product after deducting all the marketing and admin costs as well as claims paid out from the premiums paid in, so you would have to be very unlucky for it to be worthwhile.0 -
We do this. It saves overall across our phones and 2 cars. £156 a year all in. I have been quoted that just to cover the phones.CasualBagger said:Consider going for the Nationwide FlexPlus bank account instead and you won't need to worry about renewing. Ive just had my renewal in the post £166.80 for a year. I telephoned them to see of they could offer any discounts and they would not.0

Does it have to be the AA?
Take a look at the savings with signing up with Green Flag via Quidco.0 -
Ive been impressed with the AA when ive needed to call them.0

..finally got through to the AA and they have reduced my premium (which was quoted as 20% up from last year), to less than it was last year....first time ever!
